John N. Kelsey
John N. Kelsey is a shareholder at the firm and has represented asbestos victims and their families since joining the firm in 1999. He currently manages the firm’s Indiana asbestos docket and is also very active in the firm’s Michigan asbestos litigation docket.
Biography
John earned his BA degree from Michigan State University/James Madison College in 1983 and his JD degree with honors from Thomas M Cooley Law School (now Western Michigan University/Cooley Law) in 1985.
John began his legal career as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Calhoun County, Michigan where he served as a Senior Trial Attorney. In this position, he handled all facets of criminal cases, including successfully trying hundreds of serious felony cases to verdict.
John’s extensive trial experience brought him to the firm in 1999 where he has put those skills to work assisting thousands of asbestos victims and their families. John has been recognized as a Top 10 Asbestos/Mesothelioma Trial Lawyer by the Asbestos/Mesothelioma Trial Lawyers Association and a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association
John lives with his wife, Mary, in Mason, MI where both are active in the community and John currently serves as President of the local Optimist Club.
